Ed is a shareholder in the Labor and Employment and Litigation groups at Fredrikson & Byron, P.A.  Ed has 32 years of litigation experience in a variety of jurisdictions on matters ranging from state and federal OSHA, workers’ compensation, general litigation in state and federal court involving many jury trials, to post-conviction habeas corpus death penalty representation.  Pro bono and community involvement has been an integral part of Ed’s practice for over 30 years. He has represented indigent parties in family law matters, post-conviction criminal proceedings, and he has been appointed by the court many times as a guardian ad litem in Ramsey County child protection proceedings.  For the past 5 years, Ed has been representing Louisiana death-row inmate Michael Wearry in post-conviction proceedings.  Mr. Wearry’s three-week evidentiary hearing concluded in June 2013 and the case is now on appeal to the Louisiana Supreme Court.  Ed also represents Louisiana death-row inmate Lee Roy Odenbaugh.
